Rose had been a volunteer caseworker at the Public Interest Law Centre since May 2017.
Rose worked predominantly with our student finance caseload, appealing decisions by the Student Loans Company to deny financial support based on applicants’ immigration status or history. She provided written representations on clients’ behalf through the internal appeals and pre-action procedures.
She assisted the lawyers with our Judicial Review against the Home Office policy of detaining and deporting rough sleepers from EEA states, producing bundles and filing applications at Court.
Rose is also a welfare advice volunteer at the Latin American Disabled People’s Project, and volunteers as an accompanier with North East London Migrant Action. She is Assistant Secretary of the Haldane Society of Socialist Lawyers.
Rose is an LPC graduate and has now secured a training contract at a law firm specialising in mental health and community care law.
